Juan S. Ramirez

Juan S. Ramirez joined Cafferty & Scheidegger, S.C. after five years as a Wisconsin State Public Defender in Racine County, where he defended adults and juveniles on misdemeanor and felony matters, including drug offenses, OWI, domestic violence, property crimes, homicide, and sexual assault. At Wisconsin Ticket Specialists, Juan handles traffic cases that intersect with criminal law (OWI, reckless driving, operating after revocation, CDL violations with criminal exposure, minor-in-possession) for drivers across Racine, Kenosha, and Walworth counties.

Juan is bilingual in English and Spanish and regularly represents Spanish-speaking drivers, a service few traffic-defense firms in southeastern Wisconsin offer at a native-speaker level. Through his dedicated work, Juan's client received an acquittal in a homicide case, and the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers awarded him the Martin Hanson Memorial Prize in recognition.

Juan was born in Colombia and immigrated to the United States with his family when he was nine. He has specialized knowledge of how a criminal or traffic conviction may affect immigration status, including how an OWI conviction can create deportation exposure for lawful permanent residents. Juan resides in Milwaukee with his wife, Mariah, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Bay View Community Center.
